ECOWAS President, UN Deputy Secretary-Gen Hold Talks On Strengthening Bilateral Ties, Terrorism

The United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Mrs. Amina J. Mohammed, and the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, have met to  discuss issues of bilateral cooperation and the challenges hindering the development of West Africa.

This was during the visit of Mrs. Amina J. Mohammed to the headquarters of the regional organization in Abuja, Nigeria, AA statement said on Tuesday.

According to the statement , the discussions between Mrs. Amina J. Mohammed and Dr. Omar Alieu Touray notably focused on terrorism, the proliferation of arms, insecurity, peace, security, and stability within the ECOWAS region.
