ECOWAS Builds Capacity Of IPAWAS In Investment Promotion

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission has successfully started a two-day capacity-building training for the Association of Investment Promotion Agencies for West African States (IPAWAS).

The training aimed to enhance collaboration among Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) across the region as key stakeholders in advancing ECOWAS’ economic integration agenda.

A statement on Tuesday said that this initiative is designed to equip IPAs with essential tools to attract quality investments that drive sustainable development.

The training also focused on enhancing the ability of IPAs to understand the evolving global investment landscape and to position the region strategically for increased investment inflows.

By leveraging both the ECOWAS and African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) frameworks, IPAs will be better positioned to enhance the region’s competitiveness in the global Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) market.
