The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has enrolled 2,296 Nigerians in the first six days of its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom.
The exercise, which began on September 7, 2026, is being conducted at the London and Manchester Centres to provide passport services to Nigerians with confirmed appointments.
The NIS disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, September 14, 2026, and signed by its Service Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi.
The statement said the intervention had recorded sustained turnout and steady processing of applicants since its commencement.
It revealed that 587 applicants were enrolled at the London Centre, while the Manchester Centre processed 1,709 applicants within the period under review.
The daily enrolment figures across both centres were: September 7 – 245 applicants; September 8 – 401 applicants: September 9 – 396 applicants: September 10 – 429 applicants; September 11 – 406 applicants;September 12 – 419 applicants
The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, fsmn, visited the Special Passport Intervention Centres in Manchester and London as part of efforts to strengthen oversight and improve service delivery.
The Service Public Relations Officer said the working visit enabled the NIS boss to assess the exercise firsthand, engage members of the Nigerian community and ensure that applicants receive efficient and seamless passport services.
The Service said the intervention exercise was ongoing at the two centres, assuring applicants with confirmed appointments of continued service.
It added that passport production and dispatch for enrolled applicants had commenced and were progressing steadily.
The NIS commended Nigerians in the United Kingdom for their patience, understanding and cooperation throughout the exercise.
It urged applicants to continue working with officials on ground to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of the intervention.
