The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has commenced rehabilitation of four transmission towers vandalised along the Afam-IPP-Elelenwo 132kV Double-Circuit Transmission Line.
TCN Management disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, following the discovery of the vandalism by the company’s lines engineers from the Port Harcourt Region on August 6, 2026.
According to the statement, Towers T50 to T53 were affected, with their tower members removed and carted away by vandals.
The company said the incident marked the fifth vandalism attack recorded on the same transmission line in recent times.
TCN said rehabilitation work was currently ongoing to restore the affected infrastructure and urged stakeholders to work together to curb the persistent vandalism threatening the stability of the national electricity grid.
