NIPR, NTDA Set Up WPRF 2026 Technical Committee to Boost Tourism Promotion

Preparations for the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) gathered momentum on Friday as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) inaugurated a Technical Committee to drive tourism and entertainment activities for the global event.

The committee was inaugurated at the NTDA headquarters in Abuja by the agency's Director-General, Mr. Ola Awakan, and the President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku.

The committee has been tasked with developing a comprehensive tourism and cultural programme that will showcase Abuja and other destinations within the Federal Capital Territory to thousands of delegates expected from more than 150 countries.

The initiative is aimed at leveraging Nigeria's rich cultural heritage, hospitality, creative industry and entertainment sector to enhance visitors' experience during the World Public Relations Forum and the Naija Flavour International Tourism (NAFITO) Expo scheduled for November in Abuja.

According to the organisers, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to using tourism as a strategic tool for nation branding while projecting Nigeria's positive image to a global audience.

Members of the committee are expected to design immersive experiences that will highlight the country's tourism potential and create lasting memories for international participants attending the events.
