Nigeria to Receive 270 Returnees as Fourth Evacuation Flight Departs South Africa

 

The Federal Government has announced that the fourth evacuation flight for Nigerian nationals stranded in South Africa is scheduled to depart Lagos on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Air Peace aircraft designated for the exercise will leave Lagos for Johannesburg at 3:30 p.m.

After completing the evacuation process, the aircraft is expected to depart Johannesburg at 12:00 midnight with 270 Nigerian returnees on board.

The flight is scheduled to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, subject to operational conditions.

The evacuation is part of the Federal Government's ongoing efforts to facilitate the safe return of Nigerians from South Africa.
