The fellowship was conferred on the minister during a ceremony held at his office in Abuja on Tuesday in recognition of his contributions to strategic communication, ethical public engagement and national development, a statement by Lara Owoeye-Wise, Special Assistant on Media Minister, said on a statement Wednesday
Speaking at the event, ARCON Director-General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, described the honour as a fitting recognition of Alake's distinguished career in journalism, strategic communication and public service.

He also noted that the fellowship reflects Alake's longstanding reputation as one of Nigeria's leading journalists and media professionals, whose career has been marked by professionalism, integrity and dedication to nation-building.
In his remarks, Alake thanked ARCON for the recognition, describing the fellowship as a validation of the critical role of effective communication in public administration.
He reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to openness, accountability and sustained engagement with citizens, investors, host communities and other stakeholders in advancing the Renewed Hope agenda for the solid minerals sector.
