NYSC Postpones 2026 Batch 'B' Stream I Orientation Course in Niger State

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has postponed the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream I Orientation Course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State.

The NYSC management announced the postponement in a statement issued by its Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, on Sunday.

According to the statement, the decision was necessitated by the ongoing renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, Niger State, following extensive damage caused by a recent windstorm.

The renovation work is being carried out by the Niger State Government to restore the camp facilities and ensure a conducive environment for corps members.

As a result, the NYSC said it is making urgent arrangements to secure an alternative venue for the orientation exercise.

The scheme assured affected prospective corps members that a new date for the commencement of the orientation course, as well as other relevant details, would be communicated in due course.

NYSC management expressed regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause to prospective corps members and their families, while appealing for their understanding and cooperation.

The orientation course is a mandatory programme that marks the beginning of the one-year national service for corps members across the country.
