The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, on Tuesday met with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, to discuss plans for the presentation of President Bola Tinubu’s infrastructure achievements before the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
The meeting centred on fixing a date for the Minister to formally brief the party leadership on the administration’s achievements in road and bridge construction across the country under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, on Tuesday, during the engagement, Umahi commended the APC National Chairman for introducing a process that allows ministers to appear before the NWC on live telecast to account for the progress and gains recorded by the administration in their respective sectors.
He also praised Yilwatda for the successes recorded by the party leadership, particularly the peaceful conduct of the party’s primaries, noting that the inclusive approach of the NWC provided aspirants with the freedom to contest.
Responding, the APC National Chairman applauded the Minister for the transformation taking place in the nation’s infrastructure sector and assured him that the NWC would soon invite him to formally present the administration’s achievements.
Yilwatda said that even ahead of the official presentation, members of the committee and many Nigerians had continued to witness the scale of President Tinubu’s infrastructure drive through television reports, public feedback and visible projects across the country.
Umahi also assured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration remained committed to tackling the nation’s challenges while sustaining critical infrastructure development nationwide.
Following the meeting, the Minister proceeded to inspect and address the developing situation at Eko Bridge.
