A former Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Segun Tomori, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II to support his bid for the party’s House of Representatives ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement addressed to party members on Friday, Tomori said the constituency requires “a breath of fresh air,” arguing that the APC lost the seat to the opposition in the last election due to internal divisions, factional struggles, and what he described as weak representation by the incumbent lawmaker.
He noted that political tensions within the party in the constituency have worsened since the 2023 elections, with rival camps locked in fierce contests for supremacy. According to him, the emergence of multiple aspirants, including older political actors seeking a return to office, underscores the need for a new direction.
Tomori said his decision to join the race was informed by the desire to unify the party and reclaim the constituency from the opposition. He described himself as a bridge-builder with the experience, capacity, and influence needed to reconcile aggrieved factions and strengthen the party’s electoral chances.
The aspirant appealed to party leaders, stakeholders, and members across Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II to support his candidacy in the APC House of Representatives primaries scheduled for May 16, 2026.
He pledged to provide transformative representation for the constituency if elected, while emphasizing his commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC.
Tomori, popularly known as SET, said his candidacy represents an opportunity for party members to move beyond personal interests and support a candidate with a track record of service, youthful energy, and the capacity to return the constituency to the ruling party.
