The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved a major shake-up within the Corps, redeploying 162 senior officers across key formations nationwide in a move aimed at strengthening operations and improving road safety outcomes.
The restructuring includes the appointment of four new Zonal Commanding Officers and the redeployment of Sector Commanders to several states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Rivers, Kaduna, Bauchi, Imo, Benue, Yobe, Ogun, Delta, Osun, Kogi, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom.
As part of the changes, Deputy Corps Commander Osondu Ohaeri has been appointed as the new Corps Public Education Officer.
His elevation is expected to enhance the Corps’ public communication strategy and promote more effective engagement with road users.
The newly appointed Zonal Commanding Officers are ACM C.Z. Mathew (RS5HQ Benin), ACM A.L.O. Ruk (RS9HQ Enugu), ACM B.S. Akande (RS10HQ Sokoto), and ACM Leye Adegboyega (RS12HQ Bauchi).
In the same vein, several Corps Commanders have been assigned as Sector Commanders. AP Longkam takes charge in Kaduna, O Ogunjobi in Ogun, VA Kayode-Oni in Benue, PE Bedford in Edo, CE Edem in Delta, FA Ajatta in Rivers, FM Kalu in Akwa Ibom, SO Ordu in Bayelsa, and T. Iliyasu in the FCT.
Others include KB Kazeem in Kwara, LL Fagge in Kogi, ON Okoro in Imo, ST Adebayo in Osun, SD Kehinde in Oyo, I Baba in Yobe, and CS Luka in Bauchi.
According to the Corps Marshal, the redeployments were guided by merit, experience, and the operational needs of the Corps. He urged the newly appointed officers to demonstrate professionalism, renewed commitment, and strategic leadership in their respective roles.
Mohammed reiterated the FRSC’s commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and reducing road crashes across the country.
