The maintenance exercise began on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and will continue on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both days.
According to the company, the exercise involves routine preventive maintenance on the T1 30MVA 132/33kV and T2 30MVA 132/33kV power transformers to ensure their optimal performance and continued reliability.
As a result, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity through the T1 transformer during the maintenance period, affecting electricity supply to REAL and Sagamu.
Similarly, customers supplied through the T2 30MVA 132/33kV power transformer, including CEPLASS, NNPC/Ogijo, Metafrique and Babcock, are expected to experience temporary interruptions in electricity supply on Friday, September 4, while maintenance work is carried out.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience and assured them that the maintenance was necessary to enhance the reliability and efficiency of power supply infrastructure.
The statement was signed by the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and dated September 3, 2026.
