Dabiri-Erewa Congratulates NTA DG, NAN MD on Tenure Renewal

 

The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Mohammed Ali, on the renewal of their appointments for a second three-year term.

The tenure renewal was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The renewed tenure will take effect on October 20, 2026, extending the appointments of both media executives, who commenced their first three-year term on October 20, 2023.

In a congratulatory message on Monday, Dabiri-Erewa described the reappointments as a well-deserved vote of confidence in the two media leaders, noting their contributions to projecting Nigeria’s image both locally and internationally.

According to a statement by the Head, Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit,Abdur-Rahman Balogun, she said their work was also important in connecting the country with millions of Nigerians in the diaspora represented by NiDCOM.

According to her, the continued leadership of Dembos and Ali would provide sustained, credible and far-reaching coverage of national issues, including matters concerning the Nigerian diaspora.

Dabiri-Erewa also commended the two media professionals for their commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s state-owned media institutions amid ongoing efforts to modernise operations and expand digital reach.

She wished both executives continued success as they commence their second term in the service of the nation.
