Power Restoration Underway as AEDC Resolves C2 Maitama Substation Dispute

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) has announced the resolution of the dispute surrounding the invasion and encroachment on the C2 Maitama Substation, paving the way for the restoration of electricity supply to Maitama and neighbouring communities.

In a statement signed by the Management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC), on Tuesday , the utility company said the resolution followed sustained engagements with stakeholders and the intervention of government officials.

The company disclosed that the breakthrough has enabled its technical teams to commence repairs, reinstatement and restoration of the damaged electricity infrastructure at the substation.

It said efforts are being intensified to complete the work safely and restore power to affected customers in the shortest possible time.

AEDC attributed the successful resolution to the intervention of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, and the Minister of Power, Chief Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, whose leadership and support, it said, were crucial in resolving the impasse.

According to the company, the ministers' timely involvement helped facilitate an amicable settlement, allowing repair works to begin after the disruption caused by the encroachment.

While expressing appreciation to customers for their patience and understanding during the outage, AEDC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting critical electricity infrastructure and ensuring the delivery of reliable and sustainable electricity services.
