The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration aimed at strengthening grid stability and improving electricity service delivery across the country.
The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Managing Director of NISO, Engr. Abdu Muhammed Bello, to the TCN Kano Regional Office.
Welcoming the NISO delegation, the General Manager (Transmission), TCN Kano Region, Engr. M. K. Bello, expressed appreciation for the longstanding cordial relationship between the two organisations.
He commended the NISO Managing Director for the agency's consistent support, noting that NISO had always responded promptly whenever TCN required operational assistance.
Bello assured the visiting team of TCN Kano Region's continued commitment to sustaining the partnership and providing the necessary operational support to ensure the successful implementation of Nigeria's electricity market reforms.
In his remarks, NISO Managing Director, Engr. Abdu Muhammed Bello, thanked the management of TCN Kano Region for the formal handover of the former TCN Regional Office to NISO.
He described the gesture as a significant milestone and evidence of the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between both organisations.
The NISO boss reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to maintaining close collaboration with TCN in advancing a stable, reliable and efficient national electricity grid.
According to him, effective coordination between system operations and transmission infrastructure remains critical to ensuring grid security and operational stability.
He added that sustained cooperation between both organisations would further improve power system operations and enhance electricity service delivery to Nigerians.
