A House of Representatives aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II and former Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Segun Tomori, has commended Nigerian workers for their critical role in driving the nation’s economic growth.
In a statement marking the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration, Tomori described the Nigerian workforce as resilient and dynamic, noting that their contributions across sectors—including technology, civil service, entertainment, manufacturing, and agriculture—continue to boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He paid tribute to workers whose efforts often go unnoticed, including artisans, cleaners, and market men and women, acknowledging their sacrifices in sustaining households and supporting the economy.
“Brick by brick, our nation is built by the dedication and resilience of the Nigerian worker,” he said, adding that such individuals remain the backbone of national development.
Tomori also called for renewed commitment to improving workers’ welfare, urging both government and citizens to take deliberate steps to ease the burden on workers through supportive policies and acts of kindness.
Addressing his constituents, he reiterated his commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through grants and improved access to Federal Government initiatives, if elected into the House of Representatives.
He further pledged to collaborate with relevant agencies, including CREDiTCorp, to expand access to credit facilities for workers, enabling them to meet essential needs and improve their living standards.
The aspirant also emphasized the importance of legislative action, stating that he would work with colleagues to advance laws that promote the welfare and dignity of Nigerian workers.
Tomori concluded by expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, urging unity among citizens and leaders to harness the country’s full potential and prioritize national interest.
He extended his best wishes to Nigerian workers on the occasion of Workers’ Day.
