Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister Resigns To Contest Bauchi Governorship Election



Nigerian Minister  of Foreign Affair, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has resigned as minister to pursue his  governorship position ambition as Bauchi Governor.

The Spokesperson of the Ministry, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa,   confirmed his resignationon Monday.

The outgoing minister was in August 2023, sworn in as the 29th Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Ahmed Tinubu administration, and  has been at the forefront of driving the President Bola Tinubu's "4-Ds" foreign policy doctrine of; Democracy, Development, Demography, and Diaspora.

The 4-Ds doctrine leverages Nigeria’s large population and global footprint to secure investments, foster democratic stability in West Africa, and engage the diaspora.
