ECOWAS Allocates US$719,733 In Humanitarian Aid To Support Refugees In Togo



In line with its Vision 2050, the ECOWAS Commission, through its Directorate of Humanitarian and Social Affairs, allocated US$719,733 in humanitarian aid to Togo in 2024 to support refugees, internally displaced persons, asylum seekers, returnees and host communities.

The official cheque presentation by H.E. Ms Deweh Emily, ECOWAS Resident Representative in Togo, and Dr Sintiki Tarfa-Ugbe, Director of Humanitarian and Social Affairs at ECOWAS, to the Togolese Minister in charge of Security and Civil Protection, represented by Commissioner Hodabalo-Pitemnèwèa KADJA, and the Director General of the National Civil Protection Agency (ANPC), Lieutenant Colonel Yoma Baka, ECOWAS Directorate of Communication said on Thursday in a statementt.

Through this ceremony, ECOWAS reaffirmed its commitment to solidarity, regional cooperation and humanitarian action within the framework of its Vision 2050. 

This ECOWAS intervention is being implemented with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP) and coordinated at the national level by the ANPC under the authority of the Ministry of Security.
