The President of the ECOWAS Commission H.E. Dr. Oumar Alieu Touray has presented the 2025 Annual Report on the State of the Community to parliamentarians of the Sixth Legislature let by Speaker of the Parliament, H.E. Mrs. Maimounatou Ibrahima, offering a comprehensive review of developments across key sectors within the region.
During the address, at the ECOWAS Parliament in Abuja on Friday, Touray provided detailed insights into progress, challenges, and ongoing initiatives in critical areas including regional security, agriculture, humanitarian support to Member States, trade and economic integration, public health, and the promotion of democratic governance and credible elections.
Parliamentarians engaged actively with the presentation, debating its various components and seeking clarifications on sector-specific issues. Members of the Sixth Legislature also called for targeted interventions to strengthen regional mechanisms and accelerate integration efforts across the sub-region.
The presentation of the Annual Report underscores ECOWAS’ continued commitment to transparency, accountability, and collaborative governance aimed at fostering stability, development, and unity among its Member States.
