Petroleum Ministry Staff Visit Ekperikpe Ekpo Over Mother-in-law’s Death

Staff of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources have commiserated with the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. (Obongemem) Ekperikpe Ekpo, Ph.D., over the death of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Magdalene Ubom Udoakpan, who passed on at the age of 80.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Head of Press and Public Relations Unit of the Ministry, Mr. Christopher Ugwuegblam, noted that the late Mrs. Udoakpan lived a fulfilled life, impacting positively on her generation. 

He encouraged the Minister and his family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived as a strong Christian and is now in a better place.

Responding, the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. (Obongemem) Ekperikpe Ekpo, PhD, who welcomed the staffers to Akwa Ibom State, appreciated them for their visit and words of comfort.

While describing his late mother-in-law as his source of strength, Minister Ekpo said he will continue to foster a cordial working relationship with his staff members, in order to actualise President Ahmed Tinubu's vision for the Ministry.

Also in the delegation were the MD/CEO of Sepha Energies Limited, Sandra Agho, as well as Gabriella Odaduwa of Women in Energy Oil and Gas.

The remains of the late matriarch, Madam Magdalene Ubom Udoakpan, will be laid to rest on Friday, November 14, 2025 in Ikot Udom, Ika LGA.
