ANSSP, WAHO Partner To Combat Monkeypox In Benin

The National Primary Health Care Agency (ANSSP) and the West African Health Organisation (WAHO) are partnering to combat Monkeypox in Benin Republic.

Towards this, ANSSP received essential medical supplies aimed at strengthening epidemic response efforts in Benin.

The delivery, carried out by the Beninese Company for Health Product Supply (SOBAPS), was made possible through the financial support from WAHO to the Ministry of Health in response to the ongoing monkeypox (MPOX) outbreak, ECOWAS Directorate of Communication, said on Friday.

The handover ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the ECOWAS Resident Representative in Benin, who also chairs the Steering Committee of WAHO financial support in the country, as well as the WAHO Focal Point and Financial Manager.

The statement said that this initiative demonstrates the continued commitment of WAHO and ECOWAS to support Member States in strengthening their capacity for disease prevention and response to emerging health threats.
