NCA Seeks Mining Cadastre Office's Support For 46th Confab


The Nigerian Cartographic Association (NCA) has sought the partnership and support of the Mining Cadastre Office (MCO) for it's upcoming 46th Conference, scheduled to take place from September 8th to 12th, 2026, in Abuja.

This was the outcome of discussions when NCA President, Prof. M.L. Rilwan, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the Mining Cadastre Office, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom on Tuesday in his office to discuss ways in which both organizations can work together to advance their shared interests in geospatial data management and mineral title administration.

According to a statement by the Head of Press, statement Patrick Chika Osuji, during the visit, the NCA team sought the MCO's support in promoting the conference, which aims to bring together professionals and experts in the fields of cartography and mining to share knowledge, innovations, and best practices. 

The conference theme is expected to highlight the critical role of geospatial data in mineral exploration, mining operations, and sustainable development.

The Director-General of the MCO, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom, expressed his enthusiasm for the potential collaboration, noting that both organizations share common goals in promoting geospatial data management and mineral title administration. 

He assured the NCA delegation of the MCO's support and cooperation in ensuring the success of the conference.

The Nigerian Cartographic Association and the Mining Cadastre Office have a shared interest in leveraging geospatial data to drive economic growth, sustainable development, and informed decision-making. This visit marks an important step towards fostering a strategic partnership between the two organization.

Prof. M.L Rilwani also emphasized that apart from the members of the Association , experts are expected to attend the conference.
