Katsina Lawmakers Hail Nigerian Armed Forces As CDS Commits To Security In The State

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, received a delegation of members of the National Assembly members  from Katsina State at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, on Friday, reaffirming commitment to security in the state.

The delegation was led by Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’Adua, Chairman Senate Committee on Army.

A statement by the Brigadier GeneralDirector Defence Information, Tukur Gusau  said that during the visit, the lawmakers commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for its sacrifice and commitment towards  provision of security in Katsina State and the country at large. 

They also paid glowing tribute to the gallant troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight to defend Nigeria, describing their contribution as heroic and invaluable.

The delegation briefed the CDS on security situation in Katsina with a call for additional deployment of troops and military assets to address  the emerging security threats in the state.

In his response, General Musa warmly welcomed the legislators and appreciated their support for the Armed Forces. 

He assured them of continued partnership with the National Assembly to strengthen security operations nationwide. 

The CDS also revealed that the military has deployed newer tactics and strategies to address evolving security challenges, with the ultimate goal of restoring peace and stability across Nigeria.

"The visit underscores the shared commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the National Assembly to safeguarding the nation and protec citizens from all forms of insecurity."
