The President of the Commission, H.E Dr Omar Alieu Touray has paid a working visit to President of Sierra Leone and Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, H.E Julius Maada Bio to update the new chair of regional development, among others.
The President of the Commission, was received in audience by President Maada Bio, President, a statement by the Directorate of Communication, said on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Dr Touray was in Freetown on a two days working visit, to apprise the new Chair on developments in the region and to seek his guidance on how the Commission could support his vision and mandate over the next one year.
In attendance were the Chief Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and his deputy, and the Minister of Planning and Economic Development. Dr Touray was accompanied to Freetown by the Chief of Staff, Mr Abdou Kolley, and the mission was supported on the ground by the ECOWAS Resident Representative to Sierra Leone, Amb. John Azuma.
The President of the Commission later paid courtesy calls and held meetings with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Economic Development, and Gender, the statement said.
