Capacity with Trainings on Monitoring & Evaluation, Others

 Petroleum Ministry Strengthens Staff 

The Ministry of Petroleum Resources (MPR), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, on June 3, 2025, commenced a sensitization workshop in Abuja for selected staff members of the Ministry.

The workshop was aimed at equipping participants with the necessary skills and tools for conducting effective Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) exercises, as well as producing comprehensive, actionable reports.

During his visit to the workshop, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi, mni, commended the initiative and urged participants to actively engage with the training sessions. He emphasized that a thorough understanding and application of M&E practices would be crucial to improving the Ministry’s overall performance rating.

A statement by the Head, Press and Public Relations Unit, Chris Ugwuegbulam on Wednesday said, the Ministry also in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, organised a strategic capacity building training for the Project Management Team (PMT) working towards  the actualization of  Enterprise Content Management (ECM) initiative.

Delivering the opening remarks, the Chairman of the ECM Team and Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Usman Abdulkadir, described the training as a critical milestone in expanding the knowledge and coordination needed to fulfill the Ministry’s mandate.

“This training underscores the Federal Government's broader commitment to human capital development and institutional reform,” he stated.

Mr. Abdulkadir further noted that the programme reflects the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable capacity building and efficient content management across its operations.

The training was specifically designed to enhance project delivery in line with the Ministry’s digital transformation agenda and support broader objectives related to institutional capacity building and governance improvement.

Participants in both training sessions were drawn from various Departments and Units within the Ministry.
