The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will lead the Nigerian delegation to attend the 3rd AU - EU Ministerial Meeting scheduled to hold from 19th to 21st May, 2025 in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.
A statement by the ministry's Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, on Sunday said the Minister is expected to make an intervention on Peace, Security and Governance at the plenary during the meeting.
The Ministry noted that the AU-EU partnership has evolved over a long period of time. Institutionally, it began with the first AU-EU summit in Cairo, Egypt, in 2000. Since then, five summits have been held where valuable decisions were taken to define the relationship between the regions.
The statement reads in parts; "The upcoming Ministerial Meeting will be preceded by the meetings of the African Group of Ambassadors on 19th May 2025 and that of the Senior Officials on 20th May 2025, respectively.
