Be Examplary Ambassadors Of Nigeria, NTAC DG Tells Volunteers

The Director General of Nigeria Technical Aid Corps (NTDC), Rt. Hon. Buba Yakub has urged the new set of volunteers being posted to Benin Republic be good ambassadors of Nigeria.

Buba Yakub tasked the volunteers to serve as responsible Technical Diplomats vduring their two-year stay in Benin even as he reiterated Nigeria's commitment to providing technical support to African countries. 

Buba who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Nkem Anyata-Lafia, in his address urged the volunteers to be excellent ambassadors of Nigeria and to understand that they are serving both humanity and their country. 

A statement by the Head Information/Public Relations of  NTAC, Ojo Adetoun Olubunmi on Monday said the DG emphasized the importance of changing the narrative about Nigeria through this initiative.

He highlighted that the deployment of the volunteers has demonstrated Nigeria's commitment to sharing its abundant human resources with African, Caribbean, and the Pacific, as well as its desire to exchange expertise and knowledge where needed. 

The team leader of the five volunteers, Mr. Michael Akubo appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar and the DG of NTAC Buba Yakub, for providing the remarkable opportunity.

He declared the commitment of himself and his team to perform to the very best of their abilities and make Nigeria proud. 

The volunteers, selected under the NTAC scheme, are expected to contribute their skills and expertise to the development of the host country while promoting Nigeria's interests and values.

The five volunteers, who specialize in various fields; including Agriculture, Nursing, Engineering, Basketball, Academics, and the sciences, are currently employed in different institutions across Nigeria. They are set to spend the next two years in their host countries before returning to their positions.
